Ship Building & Ship Repair

Harwood Marine is an Australian owned shipbuilding company that has been established since 1984.

Our large shipbuilding, aluminium and steel fabrication facility is located in Northern NSW at Harwood, which is situated on the Clarence River within the Port of Yamba.

With prime deep water frontage, the shipyard currently has several large workshops, an abrasive blasting shed and a large tonnage slipway.

We are also in the final stages of commissioning a travel lift to service smaller vessels, which will replace our previous smaller slipway in order to ensure we continue to provide solutions for smaller vessels not requiring the larger slipway.

Our site includes a heavy lift hardstand area where we are able to load and fit-out heavier equipment onto vessels. Additionally, this area provides a great site to work on vessels alongside, with power and water available.

Our repair services also include abrasive blasting and painting works. All repair services are handled in house, using our team of experienced welders, fitters, engineers, marine electricians and blaster/painters. We also have an extensive list of sub-contractors for any services that we cannot complete with our own team.

We specialise in both steel and aluminium shipbuilding and repair projects, and can custom design or refit your vessel to meet your needs.

Harwood Marine is a DNV-GL certified workshop for welding, and also has certification for our Quality Management System Certificate which is now compliant with the latest Standard of ISO 9001:2015.

The Directors and Management team at Harwood Marine have extensive experience in all facets of the marine industry. Our major services include, but are not limited to, shipbuilding, ship repair, naval design, engineering, refits, ship agency and project management.
