Unwanted organisms can build up on the side of your vessel overtime, which can create an uneven texture on the hull. This can significantly decrease the efficiency and speed of your vessel. We recommend that this build-up gets removed every five years or so to prevent further damage.

At Harwood Marine, we specialise in aluminium and steel fabrication services engineering services. This enables us to deliver strong, reliable, commercial vessels that can be delivered on time and on budget.
Our team of marine engineering experts use a range of special techniques for a combination of steel hull and aluminium superstructures if that is what you require. These ensure our hulls will be strong and resilient below water and have lightweight strength above water. Alternatively, vessels can be designed and built in all steel or all aluminium.
GILLS units can be installed on new or existing vessels, through easy to install components. Our team provides on request, an evaluation of each proposed vessel, and estimated frictional drag reduction, as well as a commercial offer and can provide clients with patented GILLS Vortex Generators, technical drawings, an equipment list, and an installation guideline to ensure that the installation process is seamless.
Harwood Marine is situated in the ideal location for shipbuilding. Our shipyard features several large workshops, and abrasive blasting shed and a large tonnage slipway, with prime deep-water frontage.
Our workshop is DNV certified for welding and has a Quality Management System Certificate, which is compliant with the latest standard of ISO 9001:2015.
To lift our vessels onto the marine hardstand areas, we use one of the most advanced travel lifts, capable of carrying up to 450 tonnes safely.
Our customed marine travel lift is used for carrying vessels from the water and transporting them with ease around our docks. The specially customised cranes allow for especially tall structures to be transported around hardstands, as the tall mast on vessels can pass into the centre of the crane.
